我在乐山的隔离时光

 

　　This is Andrea coming from Italy who is a Chinese lauguage student of Leshan Normal University at present. I left Milan on February 27, with a stopover in Moscow and Guangzhou to get to Chengdu. From the Chengdu airport by a private taxi I went to my apartment in Leshan. The staff checked body temperature at both Guangzhou and Chengdu airports, and also upon my entry by car to Leshan. I arrived in Leshan on the evening of February 28th. Immediately upon entering my community the staff marked my temperature. My university Leshan normal university has been in contact with me to check my health even during the flight. The next day I was told by the university that I was going to be taken to quarantine for two weeks. On Februrary 29, I was transported to a  seasoned hotel outside the city with all necessary precautions. They assigned me a single room. I had to stay alone for 14 days in that room. The only person I saw was the doctor who tested my temperature twice a day and gave me meals. Meals were not bad. Staying in an isolated room can be heavy and a little maladjusted culturally in the first days but luckily the hotel faced the green hills and my room had a large window with a nice view and also a good WIFI connection. They did two swab tests during my quarantine. And on the last day they took me to the hospital to get a blood test and a CT scan. Late of that afternoon, my university team accompanied me to my apartment by the university van. From that moment on, another 7 days of home quarantine began but it was much easier in my house. The community went shopping for me, I had to report body temperature twice a day at university, a doctor came once a day to take body temperature and a girl with a community worker came to check twice a day that I was at home. Yesterday, finally with the quarantine finished, I was able to leave the house. Obviously respecting the sanitary rules that the battle to defeat the virus requires. At the entrance to the mall, the staff measured the temperature of each person. Even on my return home the employees of my community do it to every person. Now the situation in Leshan is good. At least there have been no cases for about a month. 

　　I thank for the university teachers who continued to worry about my situation, also trying to alleviate the hard situation during the quarantine, I really appreciate that they brought me the coffee and assistance given to me during the quarantine in the hotel, in particular when I had an eyes problem in the last day, which later turned out to be my allergy to spring pollen, which promptly assisted me and accompanied me for a visit to the hospital without leaving me alone. And I also want to thank the workers and doctors in my quarantine who helped me in all the time.

　　I totally agree with the choice to have me quarantined because I could have been an asymptomatic patient or had taken the virus at the airport. Because in those days the contagiousness of the virus in Europe was still underestimated. I think this is the good way to defeat the virus. Finally, i also want to express my gratitude to the assistance from Sichuan medical team in Italy. I hope that my country will turn out to the normal life as China do. Wish long live of friendship between China and Italy.
